Dr Dan East
Osteopath
B.Sc. (Osteopathy)/M.H.Sc. (Osteopathy)
Dan found Osteopathy after receiving treatment from a local Osteopath for various football injuries throughout his teenage and early adult years. The ability to help people with injuries using a whole body approach interested Dan and his passion for the field began.
Dan has long been interested in human movement and anatomy which naturally led him into a career in healthcare. He completed his Masters in Osteopathy at Victoria University after completing a Science degree (Anatomy Major) at Melbourne University.
Dan is a friendly and calm person, which translates into his treatments. He enjoys the challenge of finding the source of someone’s pain rather than just treating the symptoms. He is a strong communicator and loves getting to know his patients and having a laugh in the treatment room.
A keen interest in the way the body moves has led him into further study in biomechanics and strength & conditioning training. Dan integrates exercise prescription and rehabilitation with his manual treatments.
Particular areas of interest for Dan to treat include back and hip pain, headaches, sports injuries and lower limb/foot injuries. Dan also has a keen interest in running and the adolescent population. Dan has also completed further training in Advanced Dry Needling which helps complement his skills in his areas of interest.
Dan worked as a sports trainer for St Bede’s Mentone FC during his studies which gave him excellent first-hand experience in acute sports injury management.
When he’s not at Peak Dan stays busy throughout the week by running and going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, supporting the West Coast Eagles and getting out of Melbourne on holiday.
