As a clinic we strive to provide you with Osteopaths who are seen by their peers to be leaders in the profession, where professional development and a comprehensive knowledge of the latest trends, evidence and clinical reasoning is at the forefront of your management from the minute you walk through the front door to empowering you to take ownership over your progress when you are out of our sight.
Peak Osteo is located in the heart of Hawthorn. We have a long history in the Boroondara region with staff living and having worked in surrounding suburbs such as Camberwell, Canterbury, Kew, Malvern, Richmond and Glen Iris. Our clinic is place where patients feel comfortable bringing themselves and their families, where they feel listened to and where they are in highly qualified, capable hands.
We are thrilled to be part of your road to better you and look forward to guiding you along the way to the peak of your personal health.
Osteopaths are manual therapists and enlist a range of hands on techniques that may include soft tissue massage, joint manipulation and mobilisation, muscle energy technique, dry needling and myofascial release as well as ergonomic advice, exercise prescription or other management strategies. Every Osteopathic consultation will involve a comprehensive history of your condition, physical examination and diagnosis.
This assessment may also include any relevant neurological or orthopaedic testing to allow us to arrive at a personalised diagnosis. Following your treatment you will be given advice on the prognosis of your condition as well as guidance on the management of your condition before your next consultation.
If you ever have any questions for your Osteopath we are only too happy to listen.
Osteopathy is the oldest of the modern manual medicines. It originated in America in the late 1800’s and arrived in Australia soon thereafter. Osteopaths are university trained in the diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal disorders. All Osteopaths at Peak Osteopathy have undertaken either a double bachelor degree or bachelor and masters degree programs at some of Australia’s major universities.
Like all Health Professionals, Osteopaths are, by law, required to undertake continued professional development each year and they are recognised and registered by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Osteopathy is recognised by private health insurers and can be covered by Medicare for some patients if referred by your G.P.
